If your Renovations require alterations to the outside of the building, or any additions that affect the exterior of the property, you will need to apply for Planning Permission before the works commence.  This includes if the works will add new doorways, windows or roof windows, additional shutters or extensions etc.  A Piece of Burgundy can provide all the paperwork and information that your Mayor needs for you to receive Planning Permission consent.  This is also used for Change of Use applications, for example if you are converting a barn, stable or loft into Residential rooms.

It is your Mayor who deals with all of these changes, sometimes verbally under agreement and often after making a formal application, involving much paperwork, designs and 3D impressions of before and after the works.

A Piece of Burgundy offer a Permis de Construire Service to produce all the necessary paperwork, talk to the mayor and ensure that your application is successful.  We have many years experience of such applications and can advise on the best options for the works before these applications are started.

From July 2007 a new system of building permission has been introduced.  Whilst theoretically speeding up the process of receiving the permission, it has added many more formalities to the application, which now reaches over 60 pages in total !

There are two services available to you, the Stand Alone service, available throughout France, that takes your plans and designs, (or measurements if you do not have the designs), and produces all the pieces required for your Permis de Construire, including the form itself, fully completed in French and ready to sign.

The second, Pre Designed service can be used if we produce the designs direct from your property as part of our Design Service used during your renovations.  The same CAD systems are used for both, the same quality drawings are produced, although many more drawings are required.

Large Renovations now require an additional layer of formality, if the overall square meterage of the building exceeds 170m² you will need an Architect to sign the Permis and all the plans.

A Piece of Burgundy have teamed up with an excellent Architect from Troyes, the ArtCad group, who have verified that our designs and paperwork are of Architect quality and are now able to sign the documents in these cases.  There is an additional fee charged by them for this, although our prices still offer a very substantial saving on an Architects fee for the whole Permis.
