| One of the reasons for this was to allow us to leave all the current Oak beams exposed. A plasterboard wall is the thinest, so we designed the bedroom to follow the beams' shape and leave oak visible from both inside and outside the room. However, plasterboard is not the strongest material so extra care was required to strengnthen the wall to cope with the height. The placiste had never constructed a wall of this reinforced type and assumed a standard wall would be okay. We used our knowledge of construction and design skills to specify to him exactly how to build the best wall in this situation. His skills then produced the strongest Plaster board wall we have seen and the client can rest assured that the height is no longer a concern.
